Samosa is a popular street food now everywhere in India and other countries. Samosa is a fried pastry with a savoury filling. Widly in India it is filled with spiced potatoes and peas. But now days there are varity of fillings such as onions, peas, cheese, meat, lentils or dry fruits or even chocolate. Chocolate samosa is popular in kids. The Indian style, often accompanied by two types of chutneys, the green one is made with mint, cilantro, ginger that is Hari (green colour) chutney and other is meethi (sweet in taste) made with tamarind, dates and jaggery. So don't forget to ask for these chutneys.
Some part of india samosa comes with pav (indian dinner rolls) called Samosa pav and ragda as well called samosa chaat. Ragda is basically curry made out of chickpeas or potatos. This samosa chaat is so heavy that it is a complete one time meal in it. I feel Samosa pav is from Mumbai. People over here need to run up the clock, so instead of just having samosa they prefer it with pav so it became filling for tummy and don't need to mess your hands or shirt.
Samosa is originated in middle eat or central Asia. It welcomed by India in 13th or 14th century by traders from central Asia.
Now this lip smacking Samosas are a popular entrée, appetizer, or snack in the local cuisines of the Indian subcontinent, Western Asia, Southeast Asia, the Mediterranean, and Africa. Due to emigration from these areas, samosas today are often prepared in other regions.
Next time if you see Samosa then you know what to do.. don't let it go foodies.
Happy eating!
